About Us |
|
Valley View Percherons was established June 1968 when we purchased a complete 6-up of greys from Alberta, Canada. But before we were able to purchase the full hitch we had a team of Registered mares in 1956.
All five of our children: Vicki, Curt, Cheryl, Craig and Ken have purchased Percherons of their own. Now that the 3rd generation is growing up they are all taking part in the Jr. Driving & Showmanship classes. The family is the mainstay of the crew but with their own work and family schedules, extra help is now necessary to hire.
We have shown throughout Washington at fairs, parades, and exhibitions. Notable fairs in Washington are: The Northwest Washington Fair (Lynden), Evergreen State Fair (Monroe), The Washington Draft Horse & Mule Extravaganza (Monroe), Central Washington State Fair (Yakima) and the Western Washington State Fair (Puyallup).
We had shown at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver, BC in Canada for over 30 years; also at the Abbotsford Agrifair in Matsqui, BC, until scheduling prohibited us attending. We have also ventured to the Calgary Stampede many times. For many years we went to the Idaho International Show in Sandpoint, Idaho, including the very first show held there. We are unable to presently attend the Idaho International Show due to our contract with the Western Washington Fair.
For 3 years we helped put on the West Coast Draft Horse Festival in Eugene, Oregon and now travel to the beautiful resort of Eagle Crest in Redmond, Oregon for the Annual Central Oregon Invitational Draft Horse Show.
Here at home we try to do as much as time allows working the horses. We take part in plowing matches, parades and demonstrations. We try to raise a few foals each year. Willard & Charla Wilder |
